Description
Indications:
For the supplementation of animals with phosphorus where it is apparent that such treatment would be beneficial to the animal’s condition, and where the simultaneous administration of Vitamin B12 is required. Active Constituents
100 mg/mL Butaphosphan
50 mg/ml Vitamin B12
The solution contains 17.3 mg of phosphorous in 1mL.
Directions for Use:
To be used only by, or under the supervision of, a veterinary surgeon.
Give by muscular or subcutaneous injection according to the following table.
Volumes of more than 20mL should be split and given at several intramuscular sites, or given subcutaneously.
Repeat daily if required.
In acutely diseased animals:
Horses & Cattle | 5 – 25mL |
Foals & Calves | 5 – 12mL |
Sheep & Goats | 2.5 – 5mL |
Lambs | 1.5 – 2.5mL |
Pigs | 2.5 – 10mL |
Suckling Pigs | 1 – 2.5mL |
Dogs | 0.5 – 5mL |
Cats | 0.5 – 5mL |
In cases of chronic disease, half the above dosage at intervals of 1 – 2 weeks or less.
In healthy animals, half the above dose.
Withholding period:  Meat – nil. Milk – nil.
Storage: Â Store below 30 degrees Celsius.
Precautions:
Sterilise all injection apparatus by boiling before use. Avoid use of strong disinfectants or apparatus.
Maintain cleanliness at all times
Keep needles sharp and clean. Replace frequently.
Use needles of appropriate gauge and length. For subcutaneous administration, use the shortest needle possible (not exceeding 15mm)
Avoid injection of animals in wet weather, or dusty conditions.
