Description
Betadine Antiseptic Solution is an antiseptic, bacterial, sporicidal, fungicidal and virucial antiseptic skin cleanser. Contains 10% povidone-iodine. Betadine Solution contains 10% povidone-iodine and is the foremost documented, broad spectrum topical iodophor microbicide.
Directions of use:
Shake well before use. Pour a small quanity of Beatadine on to a swab and clean the affected area.
Pre-operative –
preparation of the skin, mucous membranes, nasal, otophuaryngeal and vaginal areas. Betadine Antispetic Solution is an aqueous solution of providone-Iodine and may be applied at full strength and it is non-toxic.
Apply undiluted as a wet compress for at least 30 minutes where sporicidal effect is desired or where a wound is heavily contaminated.
Post-Operative –
As a surgical wound disinfection. Betadine Antiseptic Solution may be applied full strength to skin and mucous mebranes following wound closure. The area may be occluded if desired.
General Use –
Prevention of infection in wounds, lacerations and abrasions. Apply full strength.
Treatment of various bacterial, viral, protozoal and mycotic skin infections. Apply full strength 2 to 3 times daily.
The colour of Betadine Antiseptic Solution delineates the treated area and indicates continuing antispetic activity. More should be applied when the colour fades.
Caution:
Do Not use if hypersensitivity to iodine. If irritation, redness or swelling develops, discontinue treatment.
Do Not mix with other detergents or chemicals.

Storage:
Store below 25 degree celcius. Out of direct sunlight.
